Fan zones and large-scale broadcast: Kyiv prepares for UEFA 2018

Fan zones will be opened during the men's and women’s finals of the UEFA Champions League in Kyiv. In addition, the Champions Festival will take place and the whole event will be broadcasted in large-scale. This was reported by the press service of Kyiv State City Administration.

The Champions Festival of 2018 UEFA Champions League will be held on Khreshchatyk Street on May 24-27. Due to this, traffic movement could be limited due to construction and setting of the equipment for the event: from 08:00 to 23:00 on May 12-23 and also during the de-installation from 08:00 to 23:00 on May 28-31.

"Places for teams’ fans during the finals will be arranged in Taras Shevchenko park and near the ‘Ukraine’ National Palace of Arts. Information desks and food courts will be organized at these places. There is also an idea to hold a contest for the best picture among the tourists,” the administration announced.

It is noted that for those who will not make it to the stadiums, the matches will be broadcasted on Kontraktova Square.

It is also reported that logo images of UEFA finals will be decorating the public transport stops as well as the illumination poles on some streets of Kyiv. The volumetric constructions in the form of the UEFA ball, UEFA star and a model of a UEFA Champions League cup will be installed in the city.

Kyiv City Administration promises that on the days of finals, the police will be working in an enhanced mode. The law enforcers will not only guard public order but will also prevent the illegal sale of tickets for the football matches.

As it was reported earlier, Kyiv officially received the UEFA Champions League cupsThe ceremony was held today, April 21, in front of the building of the Kyiv City State Administration. It was attended by the mayor of Kyiv Vitali Klitschko, the president of the Football Federation of Ukraine Andriy Pavelko, ambassadors of the UEFA Champions League finals Andriy Shevchenko and a representative of the women's national football team Iya Andrushchak, the president of Dynamo football club Igor Surkis.

The finals of women's tournament will be held on May 24 at the Dynamo stadium named after Lobanovsky, the men's - on May 26 at the Olimpiysky stadium in Kyiv.
