The national team of Ukraine played the opener in the qualification of the UEFA Euro 2020.
Ukrainians spent most of the fight defending their gates. In general, our team managed to defend the gates against Cristiano Ronaldo’s kicks pretty good. The current European champions, Portugal were held to a 0-0 draw by Ukraine in their opening Euro 2020 on March 22.
Ukraine's veteran goalkeeper Andriy Pyatov kept Portugal at bay with several fine saves. Ukrainians responded rarely, but their shots were rather interesting and potentially good ones. Yevhen Konoplyanka, for one, had his shot blocked. At the end of the game, Ukraine's debutant, Junior Moraes saw his shot from the rebound blocked as well.
