The incumbent champions of the world are to stand against the reigning champions of Europe. That's right, the French will play a Euro 2020 fixture against Portugal. The game is to take place at Puskas Arena in Budapest; the kick-off time is 10 p.m. June 23.
France is already in the Euro playoffs, and Portugal still has to make it to the next stage. It would be also more favorable for the Portugese if Germans lost or played a draw with Hungary. In that case, the current European champions would benefit and have better chances to proceed. However, a draw with French would still be enough for Portugal to carry on and perform in the playoffs, only from the third place in the group.
France took a lot of criticism after the surprising draw with Hungary. Nevertheless, it's all calm in the French camp, except for the injury for Usman Dembele who would not be able to appear on the pitch until the tournament is over.
In the otehr two games on June 23, Slovakia will face Spain, and Poles are to go toe-to-toe with Sweden.
