Ukrainian tennis players had matches at the Grand Slam tournament, which is taking place in British Wimbledon.

Elina Svitolina faced off Croatia opponent Petra Martic. The competitor was able to attack at the beginning of the game but dropped two last sets. For the first time in her tennis career, Elina passed to the quarterfinal of Wimbledon. She will face off against a winner of the match Karolína Plíšková - Karolína Muchová.

Another Ukrainian tennis player Dayana Yastremska fought with Chinese opponent Zhang Shuai in the quarterfinal. Zhang won the first set, but failed the second one, winning only one game. However, the third set became advantageous for her with the landslide score 6:2.

As it was reported earlier, Svitolina, Ukraine's No.1 in tennis played the Round 2 fixture in the WTA event in Rome. Her opponent was Viktoriya Azarenko from Belarus. Svitolina won the first set (6:4), but Azarenko's comeback brought her victory in the second (1:6). The third set appeared to be tough, eventually resulting in the Belarusian's triumph.

In February 2019, Ukraine's national tennis team lost to Sweden in FedCup. Nadiya Kichenyuk and Marta Kostyuk were playing against Mirjam Björklund and Cornelia Emily Lister. Ukrainians started the game quite actively, leading the game with score 4:0. Nadiya and Marta pulled themselves together and won the set after losing two games in a row. At the beginning of the second set, the rivals turned it into a real hack and slash, where the Swiss girls won. It helped them win the second set. The third set was even tougher, the rivals did not let go of each other all the time. In the end, the Swiss team managed to break the opposite serves, so they ended the match on their serves.
