Dynamo Kyiv and Shakhtar Donetsk came toe-to-toe in the dramatic struggle for the Super Cup of Ukraine. This was the first official game for both teams in the new football season (2019-2020) in Ukraine. The game took place at Chornomorets stadium in Odesa.
Shakhtar opened the score; Dynamo's Artem Besedin made a mistake when trying to send the ball away from the goals, and Alan Patrick made it 1-0 shortly before the final whistle.
In the second half, Kyivites managed to get their act together; in just ten minutes to the end of the game, they scored twice, taking the victory out of the opponent's grasp. Mykyta Burda and Denys Garmash scored for Dynamo, making it 2-1.
Thus, Kyivites defended the trophy that they won last year. It's been the seventh Super Cup of Ukraine for Dynamo; Shakhtar got eight of these trophies so far.
