Bayern Munich came to the Ukrainian capital to cross swords with Dynamo Kyiv. The teams played the fixture of UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night, with Olimpiysky stadium hosting the game.
The snowy pitch initially created certain inconveniences for both teams. However, it took the guests only 13 minutes to open the score; defender Tomasz Kedziora lost control over the ball from the centre, and Bayern's Robert Lewandowski landed a beautiful scissor kick in the air.
Dynamo tried its best to at least even the odds. Viktor Tsyhankov's run almost succeeded when Leon Goretzka sent the ball back to goalkeeper and Manuel Neuer missed the ball. It hit the post, to a huge Dynamo fans' upset. Later, a German defender downed Vitaliy Buyalsky next to Neuer's goals. However, the referee ruled there was no penalty.
Then, Bayern scored the second goal. Kingsley Coman succesfully used an opportunity that emerged when Goretzka landed a pass from the left flank.
In the second half, Dynamo went for a more aggressive game play. However, it took some time and patience to get the ball from their opponents. Denys Harmash finished a beautiful one-on-one after the nice combination along the penalty area. He almost scored a double then, but could not finish a lob from the left.
