Tonight, September 15, Dynamo Kyiv began its performance in Qualification Round 3 of the UEFA Champions League. The Ukrainian squad faces the Dutch team, AZ Alkmaar.
The Kyivites will be once again making their way across the qualification; it's been quite a while since the team made it to the group stage last time. And it's not going to be easy, because the opponent at this particular stage is quite tough.
Last season, AZ Alkmaar shared the first place with Ajax in the Dutch Eredivisie. However, the club from Amsterdam was better in terms of personal scores. While Dynamo fought for silver in Ukraine and changed the main coach, AZ played friendlies - it even skipped the game in Eredivisie, because the opening game in UEFA Champions League was in the schedule.
As we reported earlier, the head coach of the national team of Ukraine Andriy Shevchenko spoke about the upcoming matches of the UEFA League of Nations.
"I have no feelings. I just know that it is always difficult to come in when the team has not been seen for a long time. Still, we have a serious group, good rivals. There is great motivation. We have no tasks ahead of us. The only task is to perform well," Shevchenko stated.
Ukraine's national football team is expected to hold a match with Switzerland on September 3, and on September 6 - with Spain.
