The International Independent Tribunal for Tennis Anti-Doping Program has dropped the doping charges against Ukrainian athlete Dayana Yastremska. The Federation of Tennis of Ukraine reported that on Facebook.
"The investigation found out that the the PEDs ended up in the tennis player's body due to negligence. Thus, Dayana can re-join the tennis tour!", reads the message.
Yastremska will miss the upcoming Wimbledon; however, she still has a chance to join the national Olympic team of Ukraine during the Summer Games in Tokyo. The athlete has already been nominated for participation.
Yastremska was suspended from participation in tennis events since January 7, 2021; she had twice demanded to cancel the disqualification until the final verdict is done, but the Court of Arbitration of Sport and the International Independent Tribunal for Tennis Anti-Doping Program refused to do so.
