Former two-weight UFC champion, Irish Conor McGregor is expected to make MMA comeback at the beginning of 2020.
According to ESPN, McGregor will face Donald Cerrone at UFC 246, which will take place in Las Vegas on January 18. The bout is expected to be a 5-round main event in the welterweight division.
McGregor’s last bout took place at UFC 229, which was held on October 6, 2018. He was submitted in the fourth round of a lightweight title fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov.
It will be McGregor's third bout in the welterweight division. He fought Nate Diaz at welterweight twice in 2016, losing via submission and then evening the series with a majority decision.
"I am very happy to be in Ukraine. The first thing I noticed was a large number of boards with me at the airport and in the city. It is really nice and motivating," McGregor said.
