Derevyanchenko was knocked in both of his title bouts, but neither Jacobs nor Golovkin were able to finish the Ukrainian fighter. That is why Charlo is focusing on proving his legitimacy as one of the world's top middleweight boxers.
“It would definitely deliver a statement to the world of boxing, to let them know that, yeah, the power is for real and I can get in there with just about anybody," Charlo stated.
Nevertheless, the American boxer will be preparing for any possible outcome.
“I feel like we are gonna both meet in the middle of the ring and we are gonna let our hands go. Let the best man win. My game plan will be to shut his game plan down, so you know, it is boxing. We will definitely see what goes on the night of the fight,” he added.
As we reported earlier, Derevyanchenko's fight against Charlo will take place at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, on September 26.
The main card will be aired on pay-per-view (PPV).
