Ukrainian boxer Sergiy Derevyanchenko will challenge American Jermall Charlo for his WBC middleweight title. This was reported by Showtime on its twitter page.

Derevyanchenko's fight against Charlo will take place at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, on September 26. Jermall's twin brother Jermell Charlo will fight Jeison Rosario on the same night.

The main card will be aired on pay-per-view (PPV).

It will be Charlo's third title defense of his world title. He has not been in a boxing ring since December 2019 when he finished Dennis Hogan in the ninth round. Derevyanchenko, in his turn, will get another shot at the world title: he competed for the IBF title twice, losing to Daniel Jacobs and Gennadiy Golovkin.

As we reported earlier, former WBC world light-welterweight champion Viktor Postol will face WBC/WBO unified champion Jose Ramirez on August 29.

The fight will be hosted by Las Vegas. The fighters were initially supposed to meet each other inside a ring back in February, but the coronavirus pandemic forced the delay which resulted in two rebooks.
