The World Boxing Super Series fight between Ukraine's Oleksandr Usyk and Russian Murat Gassiev is re-scheduled for summer. German organizers and promoters of the tournament, Sauerland brothers, tweeted this on April 12.
UPDATE: We are currently finalising the dates and venues for our summer #AliTrophy finals #UsykGassiev #GrovesSmith - these are massive finals and we want to get this just right! #WBSS pic.twitter.com/ocjkAUB0c2— Kalle & Nisse Sauerland (@SauerlandBros) April 12, 2018
The managers did not specify whether the final decision on the date will be made.
The final bout of WBSS was supposed to take place in Saudi Arabia on May 11. The winner of the four titles will become the absolute heavyweight champion of the world, and also the holder of Mohammed Ali Trophy.
Usyk previously claimed the fight against Gassiev will be a 'beautiful one'. 'It doesn't matter much to me - where I fight. It might seem unfair, but it's going to be the way the God intends. I don't care where to go; wherever I go, it's 'do or die' for me,' the Ukrainian champion said.
