Eddie Hearn, the promoter of British boxer Tony Bellew, told about the details of the future fight between his protegee and Ukraine's absolute heavyweight champion of the world Oleksandr Usyk.
'The bout between Tony Bellew and Oleksandr Usyk will be held within the heavyweight division. Tony wants belts. What's the value of this fight in the heavyweight? Money? Bellew himself said he didn't need any money, only belts', Hearn said as quoted by Fightnews.
The most likely date is November 10. We're going to host this fight in Manchester, Liverpool or maybe in London. I think we'll be able to sing the contract in the next few weeks', Fightnews quoted the promoter.
Previously, Usyk assumed the fight could be held in December. Bellew added that the bout would be the last one in his professional career. 'I'm a far bigger puncher than Murat Gassiev, I only need one – I’ve showed that over the last few years. If it’s solely down to me, it’s happening. I want to see it happen and I want it before the end of the year. And if it is Usyk, it’ll be my last fight ever. I say that because I know how damaging the fight is going to be,' the British said.
As for Usyk, he said he would like to hold this bout in Ukraine. 'However, it's not my decision to make', he noted.
