Mexican boxer Saúl Álvarez might lose the belt of world champion in middleweight under the version of IBF, as Boxing Scene reported.

IBF obliged the Mexican to fight with a compulsory opponent Ukrainian boxer, Serhiy Derevyanchenko, but Álvarez’s side has not started talks on the organization of the fight. The term for the negotiations expired on June 15. The Mexican’s side did not reply to the official letter and did not ask to postpone the fight.

Serhiy Derevyanchenko and Gennadiy Golovkin might fight for the vacant belt.

It should be noted that Golovkin lost IBF belt last year due to refusal from a fight with Derevyanchenko.
