New Ukrainian world champion in flyweight category Artem Dalakyan learned the name of his next opponent in the ring, according to Boxing Scene.
The WBA ordered Ukrainian to begin negotiations with the 27-year-old Thai boxer Shirichai Thaiyen. Thai opponent held 52 fights in the ring - 49 he won, 3 lost. 34 matches he completed ahead of schedule.
Earlier Ukrainian boxer Artem Dalakyan became the new WBA world champion in flyweight (up to 52.2 kg).
He defeated the former owner of the belt American Brian Viloria. Dalakyan fought all 12 rounds. After the end of the match, the judges gave him the victory with a score of 118: 110.
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has already congratulated the boxer on his victory.
"Our boxer Artem Dalakyan defeated the American Brian Viloria and won the WBA Champion title. Congratulations, the champion! We wish further victories in professional boxing!" he wrote on Twitter.
Let us note that 30-year-old Artem Dalakyan was born in Baku (Azerbaijan). Now he lives and trains in Dnipro. Until now, he held all his fights in Ukraine.
