The Russian boxer Alexander Povetkin told that there it is unclear whether the fight with Ukrainian boxer Olexandr Usyk will take place or not. Kursk today reports this.

“I can say that for now there is no final information, whether the fight will happen or not. Concerning the preparation for the fight, the period of recovery ended and I started to do many workouts”, - Povetkin said.

Reportedly, Oleksandr Usyk, Ukraine's undisputed world champion in the heavyweight division could face Russian boxer Aleksandr Povetkin.

The talks of such bout possible taking place started taking place immediately after Usyk's victory over Bellew. Recently, British promoter Eddie Hearn added he planned to organize the fight between Usyk and Povetkin in the U.S. Under the preliminary data, it could take place May 18 in Chicago. 

Previously, Povetkin already fought against a Ukrainian boxer. In 2013, the Russian stood against Wladimir Klitschko who won the fight on a unanimous decision.
