The fight for the vacant title of the WBA world’s champion is planned for the end of August, most likely, that the fight will take place in London. The proposed date of the fight is August 31.
"Lomachenko is going to fight with Campbell at the end of August. And we were able to make that deal with Eddie Hearn, who books fights for DAZN,” Ukrainian’s promoter Bob Arum said.
In addition, the place for the fight has not been confirmed yet, but in London, it might be O2 Arena. If it is not going to be in the capital, the fight will take place at Hull’s KCOM Stadium.
Earlier, World Boxing Council (WBC) appointed contenders for the belt of world champion in lightweight which Miguel Garcia left. Ukrainian boxer Vasyl Lomachenko and English Luke Campbell would fight for the title.
The fight will be held in August-September. Campbell’s promoter wants to organize the fight in Halle, a native town for Campbell, at KC Stadium, which accommodates thousands of fans.
