WBC, WBA, and WBO lightweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko opened up on his preparation for a unification bout against Teofimo Lopez Jr. A relevant interview was published on Loma's YouTube channel.
The Ukrainian pugilist does not have information on the presence of the audience but prepares to fight in the empty arena.
“It seems to me that it will feel like sparring. I tried to imagine in my head what it would look like: an empty hall, there would be some fighters who would fight on the undercard. I think that there will be up to 50-70 people. It does not really matter to me whether there will be spectators or not. There is a ring, there is an opponent, there is a goal. I do not know if there is any other way to describe my emotions. All these factors will not affect me at all, because I know what I want. I really need this title,” Lomachenko stated.
He was also asked about the current state of the negotiating process.
“I have not seen the contract personally, As far as I know, it is already in place, and we should be signing it this week,” Vasyl added.
As we reported earlier, Vasiliy Lomachenko and Teofimo Lopez Jr are expected to square up inside a ring on October 3.
