Undefeated lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury does not believe that any of the top-15 heavyweights are worried about Usyk after watching his recent bout against Derek Chisora, Boxing Scene reports.
“But on that performance I can say that none of the top 15 heavyweights out there are sweating Oleksandr Usyk at the moment, unfortunately. None of us are quaking. Is that it? Everyone’s like, ‘Is that what all the hype was about?’," Fury stated.
The incumbent WBC heavyweight champion thinks that the Ukrainian contender will face even more problems in a potential bout against a big heavyweight puncher.
“This is the heavyweight game and heavyweights are not like they were years ago, and Chisora’s probably the smallest heavyweight out there. Being brutally honest, I think when he fights a big heavyweight who can punch a bit it will be like a lamb to slaughter," he added.
As we reported earlier, on October 31, Usyk defeated Chisora via unanimous decision.
The judges saw the fight 117-112, 115-113, and 115-113, awarding Usyk the victory and keeping him in his spot as a mandatory challenger to Anthony Joshua's WBO heavyweight championship.
