Tagoe (31-1, 15KOs), who is currently ranked third in the WBO ranking, was officially ordered to begin talks with Ryan García. Nevertheless, the American fighter has decided to focus on the WBC title, preferring the bout against Britain's Luke Campbell.
Thus, the next in line is number four ranked Berinchyk (13-0, 7KOs). And his team is eager to use this opportunity.
“We have signed a promotional agreement with Denys Berinchyk in 2015 with the provision that the London Silver Olympic medalist will get his chance to challenge the world title. Being the part of the 2012 Dream Team together with Loma, Usyk and Gvozdyk Berinchyk has been working hard to get his title shot," Berinchyk's promoter stated.
It is worth noting that the Ukrainian boxer successfully defended his WBO International lightweight title for the third time back in February.
As we reported earlier, a unification bout between Vasyl Lomachenko and Teofimo Lopez Jr. is now slated for October 3.
