The national teams of Austria and North Macedonia met in Bucharest in the first round of the Euro 2020.
The Austrians, as favorites, took possession of the center of the field. The Macedonians played very emotionally and tried to respond to the opponents with their attacks . But soon the debutants missed a goal. The score was leveled very quickly. The Austrians lost the ball in their own penalty area and 37-year-old Goran Pandev scored a historic goal for his country into an empty net.
In the second half, Austria continued to look for their chances, but the Macedonians fought back and made good counterattacks. And if the implementation had not let them down, they could have scored several times. But in the end, it was Austria that scored. This time Alaba shot from the left and Gregorich scored the goal from the goalkeeper's line. And at the end of the game the third goal against Dimitrievksi was scored by Marko Arnautovic, having realized a one-on-one exit.
