Teddy Atlas, the trainer of the Ukrainian WBC light heavyweight champion Oleksandr Gvozdyk, spoke about the upcoming fight of his mentee and IBF world champion Artur Beterbiev, reported.

An eminent specialist believes that the Ukrainian will face a very difficult challenge, however, the winner of this battle, according to Atlas, will become the dominant force in the light heavyweight division.

“This fight is dangerous for both of them. But this danger is always there when you go out to box. There is a guy in the ring, who is trying to knock you out. This is not football, not tennis, not softball, here is the opponent, who throws shots at you.

It is going to be a difficult battle for us, as it should be when the titles between unbeaten guys are unified. Beterbiev - the world champion in amateur, twice participated in the Olympic Games, had about 400 amateur fights.

We understand the factor of complexity. But we also have a belief. We know who we are expecting to meet and we will not be surprised. The winner of this fight will be the light heavyweight leader," Atlas stated.

As we reported earlier, the boxing bout between Oleksandr Gvozdyk and Artur Beterbiev will take place on October 18 in Philadelphia. Boxers have already had their first face-off.
