These Ukrainian cities, as well as Kyiv and Lviv, now are allowed to host their home European cup matches, according to the UEFA vice-president Grigoriy Surkis, who spoke to "Football Club".
“Last year, only two Ukrainian cities could host home European cup matches with official European clubs, I mean Kyiv and Lviv. Other cities were estimated as unsafe in terms of UEFA match organization. This year UEFA presented numerous propositions concerning cities that could hold the UEFA tournaments of various levels. UEFA named Alexandria, Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, Kirovograd, Lviv, Poltava, Ternopil, Cherkasy, and Uzhgorod ", - said Surkis.
This year, UEFA has revised the decision concerning Dnipropetrovsk, now Dnipropetrovsk gets a permission to host European competition matches, due to the results of monitoring. There were several comments on the infrastructure of Poltava. The main problem was the lack of airport. However, UEFA accepted the idea of Kyiv-Poltava bus transfer (from "Borispil" airport).
Russian invasion has a negative influence on Ukrainian football. Crimean team received special UEFA status, and some teams can not play their home matches at their home ground.
