XVI Paralympic Games that will take place in Tokyo on August 24-September 5, 2021, are the international multi-profile event for athletes with limited physical capacities and headed by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC).
About 4,400 athletes from 160 countries are going to participate in the Paralympic Games that will start on August 24. The national team from Afghanistan has canceled its participation due to the critical situation in the country.
About a hundred athletes will come to Tokyo Paralympics from Ukraine. They will participate in different competitions, particularly, archery, paracanoe, shooting, table tennis, and others. The biggest team in the Ukrainian Paralympic team is swimmers – 40 athletes.
On Sunday, August 8, the closing ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics took place. The Ukrainian flag was carried by Lyudmyla Luzan, who received two bronze medals.
