2018 Paralympics in Pyeongchang: Ukraine claims first awards

Biathletes Lyudmyla Lyashenko, Oksana Shyshkova and Igor Reptyukh take two bronzes and one silver

Ukrainian biathletes Lydumyla Lyashenko, Oksana Shyshkova (guide - Vitaliy Kazakov) and Igor Reptyukh claimed the first awards for their team and country at the Paralympic Games in Pyeongchang. The official website of the competitions reported that on Saturday morning.  

Lyahsenko won bronze in the 6 Km Race, while Reptyukh finished third in the 7.5 Km Race; Shyshkova claimed silver in the sprint event among female athletes with impaired vision.  

The Paralympics kicked off in South Korea's Pyeongchang on March 9. This time, the Games involve 48 countries from across the globe. Ukraine is represented by 20 athletes competing in biathlon, cross country skiing and snowboarding.
