For the first time, 36-year-old Facebook co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg surpassed $ 100 billion, Bloomberg reports.
Now Zuckerberg is a member of the so-called club of "sentibillionaires" - that is, people with a fortune of over $ 100 billion.
There are only three of them in the world: besides the head of Facebook, these are Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos ($ 189.7 billion) and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates ($ 113.6 billion).
Mark Zuckerberg owns 13% of Facebook. They make up most of his fortune. For 2020, according to Bloomberg, they have already grown by $ 22 billion.
The publication also notes that Facebook shares on the morning of August 7 rose more than 6%. This may have been partially facilitated by the decree of US President Donald Trump directed against TikTok, a Chinese service with which Zuckerberg's latest development Reels competes.
As we reported before, the team of the Instagram social media, owned by Facebook announced the international launch of Reels service, which aims to compete with popular TikTok.
