Chief Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko stated that zero incidences of coronavirus in Ukraine may be observed in June 2020. Lyashko stated this on the air of the Zik TV channel.

As for the exact date, the Ministry of Health hopes to observe such statistics by the end of June, closer to the 22nd.

At the same time, Lyashko noted that it was too early to make any predictions at that moment, as the situation depended on the seasonality of Covid-19.

"Now we can say that there is seasonality because the geography of the circulation of the virus repeats the flu and flu-like diseases," he said.

As we reported earlier, according to the World Health Organization, South and North Americas have become the new epicenters of COVID-19.

It was stated that there were more than 2.4 million cases of infection and over 143,000 deaths in those regions.

"Our region became the epicenter of the Covid-19 pandemic. It's not the time for the countries to lift the restrictions," Carissa Etienne, the Organization's leader in the region, said.
