The Cabinet of Ministers appointed Zeljk Marcek as the interim head of the board of the joint-stock company Ukrzaliznytsia. The text of the government order stated this.

According to the decree, the government temporarily assigned these responsibilities to Marchek until the appointment of the board of directors of Ukrzaliznytsia JSC in the established manner.

On the website of Ukrzaliznytsia it is indicated that Marchek became a member of the board in 2016. Prior to that, he was the HR Director of Dniprospetsstal, HR Director of the Starlightmedia Group and an independent member of the Supervisory Board of Ukrrosmetal.

For almost 30 years he held executive positions at McDonald’s Corporation in Ukraine, Romania and Yugoslavia. He also took part in the project of reforming the HR direction at the Nova Posta company.

As we reported before, The Cabinet of Ministers created a working group to discuss the details of the future cooperation of Ukrzaliznytsia with the German railway operator Deutsche Bahn

It included representatives of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Ukrzaliznytsia, the specialized transport committee of the Verkhovna Rada, key business associations and trade unions.
