“In general, previous stories did not teach Zelensky’s press secretary anything. Yesterday I already had the opportunity to get to know her better. I considered and believe that the president’s press secretary should behave more respectfully towards journalists," Zabelina wrote.
The journalist attached a video, which shows how she approaches Zelensky to ask a question, but Mendel took her under the elbow and push her away.
In a comment to Bukvy, Zabelina said that at the end spokeswoman for the head of state once again pushed her away and told her not to ask any more questions.
“And when I asked her not to push me, she replied: who is pushing you? I turned to a colleague from Bloomberg, saying that you saw her pushing me away, but she obviously did not want to participate in the discussion and just kept silent. In general, it was unpleasant, since I had a very short clarifying question, and Zelensky himself reacted much more calmly," the journalist said.
She noted that such behavior by the presidential spokesman was unacceptable.
As we reported earlier, the press secretary of the president of Ukraine Yulia Mendel blocked the road and held the hands of journalist Serhii Andrushko when he tried to ask the president a question.
After the scandal gained momentum in the media and social networks, Mendel explained that she did not push but stopped the journalist. According to her, the journalist tried to work by invading Zelensky's "personal space", which is also his security zone.
