President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky is agitated by a man who set himself on fire under the walls of the President's Office, where a rally against the liquidation of hospitals took place. The man thus wanted to draw attention to his problems in the land industry. This was stated by Zelensky’s press secretary Yulia Mendel during a briefing, which was broadcasted by 112 Ukraine TV Channel.
She said that the self-arson was an act of despair that should be prevented by local authorities.
Mendel added there were more civilized methods of appealing to authorities. According to her, employees of the department of appeals of citizens have already gone to visit self-arsonist. They will find out what kind of problematic issues prompted the victim to such an act.
"In fact, there are more civilized methods of addressing, for example, the Office of Civil Appeal. And, in any case, all appeals are processed and then there is an effort being put into their resolution if the Office of the President has authority for it. So we, of course, urge not to pay attention to such problems. And you know that land reform is underway now. If people have such questions about corruption regarding land reform, then we understand that the reform is on time," Zelensky’s press secretary stated.
As we reported earlier, a man set himself on fire during the protest against consequences of the medical reform, which was held under the building of the Office of the President.
The man explained that he wanted to draw attention to his problem. He's been trying to complete a legal procedure to get the ownership of the land parcel in the Sumy region, northern Ukraine. The government, he said, took no action in this.
