President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed law No. 810-IX, which will improve the conditions for supporting the production of electricity from alternative energy sources. This law was supported by the MPs of the Verkhovna Rada on July 21, 2020, the press service of the President's Office reports.
The law is the first step towards solving the existing problems in the electricity market and is aimed at ensuring the country's energy stability.
At the same time, the President appealed to Prime Minister Denys Shmygal to take exhaustive measures to solve the problems of the functioning of the electricity market in Ukraine, in particular, to ensure fair conditions for all business entities of the unified energy system of Ukraine.
Zelensky also asked the government to systematically analyze the state of implementation of the Law of Ukraine "On the Electricity Market" by all market participants and urgently prepare proposals for its improvement.
The head of state keeps under personal control the issue of ensuring the stable and reliable operation of the united energy system of Ukraine and instructed the Prime Minister to report on the results of the implementation of the tasks on a weekly basis.
As we reported before, large privatization in Ukraine in the coming years should provide $ 1 billion to the state budget
