President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed the law on the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine that was approved by the Parliament on October 19. Serhiy Nikiforov, the press secretary of the President said so during the briefing.
"Zelensky signed the law on the NABU approved by the Rada (the Parliament, - 112 International) on October 19. It approves the NABU as the central executive authority with special status", Nikiforov said.
From now on, the Bureau director will be appointed by the government.
The law provides for bringing the NABU status in line with the demands of the Constitution of Ukraine; 304 MPs voted for the bill during the plenary session on October 19.
