President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law to support the creative industry during the quarantine period. The press service of the Office of the President reports.

The law introduces a reduction in the fee for hiring (renting) property at the request of the employer (cultural institution), which carries out the entrepreneurial activity using this property, for the entire time that the property could not be used due to the introduction of a restriction and (or) a ban.

A journalist of a broadcasting organization is entitled to present an editorial certificate or other document confirming his professional affiliation or the authority granted by the broadcasting organization to be, besides the existing right to stay in the area of ​​natural disaster, disaster, in places of accidents, riots, at rallies and demonstrations, in the territories where an emergency is declared, also where a state of emergency is declared.

Temporarily, for the period of implementation of measures aimed at preventing the onset and spread of coronavirus disease, the initiation, announcement, and holding of competitions by the National Council is stopped.

Also, for the period of implementation of measures aimed at preventing the occurrence and spread of coronavirus disease and until December 31, 2020, television and radio organizations and program service providers use a radio frequency resource, 50% of the cost of services of the Broadcasting, Radio Communication and Television Concern are exempted from payment.

By introducing appropriate amendments to the law of Ukraine "On the Ukrainian Cultural Fund" it is proposed to introduce institutional support for the stable operation and development of legal entities of all forms of ownership in the fields of culture and the arts.

It is planned to distribute state support for cinematography in the form of providing a state subsidy for the development of a film project: for national feature films, animated films, documentaries, films for a children's audience (taking into account artistic and cultural significance), films of artistic and cultural significance (copyright), television films, television series, and debut films, up to 100% inclusive of the total estimated cost of developing the corresponding film project.
