Zelensky says yes to National vaccination plan, aiming to have most citizens vaccinated by end of year

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed the decree, which gives green light to the decision of National Security and Defense Council from April 2, 2021 On the National Plan of vaccinal prevention of ARVI Covid-19 caused by coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 by the end of 2021. Press office of the head of the state reported that on April 5.

According to the decision of National Security and Defense Council, the Cabinet is supposed to develop and approve the plan within seven days, considering the best international experience in this area.

The government needs to set the minimal necessary number of injections, find the sources and terms of supplies of vaccines to prevent the coronavirus disease, and the persons responsible for implementation of the plan, which aims to vaccinate the majority of Ukraine's adult population by December 2021.

The Cabinet is supposed to activate negotiations with the vaccine manufacturers, as well as involvement of international technical assistance to implement the vaccination campaign in Ukraine.

The Healthcare Ministry is charged to take urgent action to speed up the supply of the necessary amount of the vaccine in Ukraine. It also needs to provide an effective information campaign for the population.
