President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has announced that he is ready to get vaccinated against coronavirus infection in order to show all Ukrainians the vaccination’s level of safety. He did this at the forum "Ukraine 30. Coronavirus: Challenges and Responses".
According to Zelensky, one of Ukraine’s current problems is distrust of vaccination. Nonetheless, the government is working on the vaccination of the country's population.
"I am ready to show people by personal example that vaccination is necessary and safe," he said.
As we reported earlier, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) stated that inequities in access to the Covid-19 vaccine were "shocking" and could be fatal and devastating.
“We are all in the same boat in the race to end this pandemic. We cannot sacrifice the most at-risk people in some countries to enable the least-at-risk in other countries to be vaccinated,” stressed Jagan Chapagain, IFRC Secretary-General.
The IFRC intends to allocate about 112 million dollars to support the vaccination of 500 million people.
