President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his condolences to the families who lost loved ones during the fire at the Zaporizhia Regional Infectious Diseases Hospital. This was reported by the press service of the President's Office.
"Another terrible fire occurred in Ukraine. The tragedy at the regional infectious diseases hospital in Zaporizhia took the lives of four people. President Volodymyr Zelensky expresses deep condolences to all those who lost loved ones," the statement said.
The president also promised that the state would rectify the situation to prevent such accidents from happening in the future.
"The worst thing is that this tragedy happened in a hospital, in a place where people are treated. Three patients and a young doctor died there. There are victims. My sincere condolences. The state will correct this in order to prevent situations like this from happening in the future," he added.
As we reported earlier, on the night of February 4, the fire occurred at the regional infectious hospital of Zaporizhia.
The flame was spotted at the five-storied building at 23:25. The eyewitnesses reported intense smoke; however, a flame was not observed.
Preliminary, four people died as a result of the incident.
