President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky congratulated the military and veterans on the Day of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The President's Telegram channel reports this.

"The National Air Force of independent Ukraine has been reliably protecting the peace of our citizens since 1992, continuing the glorious history of Ukrainian aviation. Our legend, Ivan Kozhedub, is the most effective fighter pilot in Allied aviation during World War II. Thank you for continuing the traditions with dignity. During the war in Donbas, your perseverance and dedication have become the mainstay of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," the head of state said.

The President expressed his respect for the heroes who died defending the freedom and independence of our state.

"You continue to protect us, becoming for Ukraine guardian angels in heaven. This means that here on earth we have no right to let you down. Today I invite every Ukrainian to look at the sky and thank our heroes, clapping their hands in their hands," Zelensky said ...

The President noted that being a pilot means fulfilling important and responsible tasks with dignity every day.

“In childhood, many of us dreamed of becoming pilots. To be a pilot is to carry out important and responsible tasks with dignity every day. To be a pilot is to protect the air borders of our state day and night. To be a pilot is to be the pride of the nation. Without the Ukrainian sky, there will be no peace. and victories on the Ukrainian soil," Zelensky states.

Ukraine celebrates the Day of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine today. This day is celebrated according to the presidential decree of June 27, 2007, on the first Sunday of August month.
