President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky called on church leaders of all faiths to conduct church services online and without the presence of people in churches, so as not to contribute to the spread of coronavirus. The press service of the President’s Office reports.
“Thanks to those church leaders who understand the danger and conduct services without people, online. I’m sure that other church leaders will join such a forced practice, because today people really need faith, but no less they need basic security,” – Zelensky said.
He also urged Ukrainians, regardless of age, not to go out unless absolutely necessary.
As we reported earlier, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova urged citizens to stay at home and refrain from going to church. The government made such a statement after eight people got infected with Covid-19 upon arrival from Pochaiv Lavra, Ukraine
According to the report, during the epidemic, a group of people went to Ukraine to make a pilgrimage. On their return, eight of them have tested positive for a new Covid-19 coronavirus, the rest are being monitored.
