President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky awarded the ‘Hero Mother’ title to 678 Ukrainian women. The website of the Office of the President reported that.

It is noted that the title was given to mothers who raised five or more children who were under the age of eight.

"Among the awarded were 31 residents of Vinnytsia region, 108 - Volyn, 12 - Dnipropetrovsk, 17 - Donetsk, 26 - Zhytomyr, 49 - Zakkarpatia, 14 - Zaporizhya, 39 - Ivano-Frankivsk, 16 – Kyiv region and 20 - the city of Kyiv. More "Hero Mother" ranks were awarded to 9 residents of the Kirovohrad region, 2 - Luhansk, 58 - Lviv, 16 - Mykolaiv, 34 - Odesa, 8 - Poltava, 74 - Rivne, 7 - Sumy, 15 - Ternopil, 15 - Kharkiv, 3 - Kherson , 20 - Khmelnitsky, 18 - Cherkasy, 53 - Chernivtsi and 14 - Chernihiv region," the message said.

Mother's Day is celebrated every year, on the second Sunday of May, in many countries of Europe, Africa, the Americas, Australia, China and Japan.

This holiday has more than a century of history, and in every country it is celebrated in its own way. Mothers are given flowers, souvenirs, pleasant little things and other unexpected surprises on this day.
