President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky called on Ukraine's religious leaders to help protect citizens from the spread of COVID-19. He stated this during a meeting with a representative of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations, the presidential press service reports.
"We can reduce the number of infected and dead if we minimize the stay of citizens, especially the elderly, in crowded places. It is not just about churches but also about any premises and events," he said.
According to the Ukrainian President, the occupancy of hospital beds in a number of regions is 70%, some settlements report full occupancy.
As we reported earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers is working on the deployment of beds in non-medical establishments of Kyiv, Odesa, Donetsk region, and other facilities in case of an urgent situation with the number of Covid-19 patients.
“The government works on the deployment of the beds in non-medical establishments in Kyiv, Odesa, Donetsk region,” the statement said.
