As we reported before, today, on July 20, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky officially introduced the new Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Kyrylo Shevchenko and praised his candidacy.
"Today I am pleased to officially present the new head of the National Bank Kyrylo Shevchenko. As president, I fully support the statement that the head of the NBU should be independent. In addition to independence, the head of the NBU must have at least three other important qualities: professionalism, courage, and responsibility. I am convinced that Mr. Shevchenko is just the right kind of person," Zelensky said.
