President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky replaced head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine - the country's military intelligence. Kyrylo Budanov will be now in charge of the country's military intelligence instead of Vasyl Burba. This is stated in the corresponding presidential decree.
"To appoint Budanov Kyrylo head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine," says decree No. 308/2020.
"To dismiss Vasily Burba from the post of chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine," says decree No. 307/2020.
According to the "Dzerkalo Tyzhnya" outlet, Budanov's colleagues describe him as a professional military man, loyal and devoted to Ukraine, and not interested in commercial profit.
