On the morning of March 9, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and his wife Olena honoured the memory of famous Ukrainian poet and artist Taras Shevchenko. This was reported by the Presidential Office in its Telegram channel.
"President of Ukraine and his wife Elena commemorated Taras Shevchenko on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of this great Ukrainian poet," the statement said.
It is also noted that Volodymyr and Olena Zelensky laid flowers at the monument to Taras Shevchenko in Kyiv.
Today, on March 9, 1814, the Ukrainian poet and artist was born.
"In my childhood, on March 8, men gave women flowers and talked about how, with their love, beauty and care, they inspire the" strong sex" for exploits. But in reality, women themselves accomplish exploits. Every day. They defend the Motherland, teach children, they treat and save lives, manage companies, make scientific discoveries and create art. They manage to combine work, family, friends, leisure, sports, self-development, charity and also remember where we men put our things," the congratulation says.
