Zakarpattya region (westernmost Ukraine) is closed for quarantine due to the spread of Covid-19. Over 7,000 people are staying on self-isolation there. Acting Head of Zakarpattya regional administration Oleksiy Hetmanenko said so; then, the press office of Zakarpattya regional council reported that, too.
The restrictions will be active from March 27 till April 24. The decision was made during the session of the regional committee for the issues of technical and environmental safety.
All markets and restaurants are closed; large grocery shops and gas station cafe keep working.
The car traffic at Udotsky pass and Torun pass is closed as well.
All those who enter the territory of the region through Yablunetsky pass will have their temperature checked.
On March 25, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to introduce the emergency situation in the entire country for 30 days, as the Chinese coronavirus keeps spreading. Public transport traffic, specifically in the underground is now suspended in Kyiv and Dnipro.
