The World Health Organization (WHO) claims that $ 23.4 billion is needed to provide the world's population with vaccines and drugs for Covid-19 until September 2022 as france24 reported.

"If the 6.8 billion doses of vaccine administered so far around the world were distributed fairly, we would achieve our goal of 40 percent by now in each country," WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said.

The WHO head recalled that unequal access to tests, treatment, and vaccines for the coronavirus prolongs the pandemic around the world and increases the risk of new, more dangerous options that may not be affected by the current tools to fight the disease.

Tedros said the ACT-Accelerator coalition needs $ 23.4 billion by September 2022 to help poor countries obtain and use the tools to fight the coronavirus. The money is needed to provide vaccines, tests, and treatments for Covid-19.
