Mourning events on the occasion of Remembrance Day of Holodomor Victims took place in a number of foreign countries.
Flowers and candles to memorials abroad were brought by employees of diplomatic representations of Ukraine and representatives of Ukrainian diasporas.
In Ukraine, on November 25, a number of mourning events for the Remembrance Day of Holodomor Victims were also held.
In the morning, President Petro Poroshenko and Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman expressed their condolences to the families of the deceased on their pages in social networks.
The president also laid a composition of spikes and viburnum to the cross on Mykhailivska Square in Kyiv.
After 15:00 the ceremony of commemoration of the victims began near the National Museum "Memorial of Victims of the Holodomor" on Lavrska Street.
The head of state, during his speech, called for the introduction of responsibility for the non-recognition of the Holodomor and expressed the hope that Russia will also repent for the 1932-1933 genocide.
At 16:00 around the country, a national minute of silence and the action "Light a candle" in memory of the victims of the genocide of Ukrainian people took place.
