Worker of Chornobyl nuclear power plant sent for self-isolation due to Covid-19 suspicion

A worker of the enterprise, which is part of the Chornobyl nuclear power plant, is suspected of being infected with the coronavirus. The power plant's PR department reported this on June 10. 

"In order to dismiss the suspicions, or to confirm the diagnosis of Covid-19, they took a specifying analysis, which was sent to the lab in Chernihiv city. The worker has been sent for self-isolation", reads the message. The test results will be available after June 15.

Another seven people who work in three different departments have been sent for self-isolation, too, so as to prevent the possible spread of infection in these enterprises.

The quarantine can be strengthened in Ukraine if the number of infected with coronavirus increases critically in 10 or more regions as 112 Ukraine TV channel reported citing Prime Minister Denys Shmygal.

“Considering the enhancing of the events, it is also spelled out; if in the critical amount of the regions the situation occurs that leads to the growth in 10 or more regions it will be the reason for making the decision to enhance the quarantine measures in the country,” Shmygal said.

He added that there are still regions in Ukraine that have not proceeded to the second stage of emerging from the lockdown.
