Counterintelligence officers of the Security Service of Ukraine forestalled a terrorist act near the monument to the UPA soldiers in Kharkiv, ordered by Russian special services. This was reported by the press service of the department.

"Since April 2018, the special services of the Russian Federation have resumed financing the activities of the military-political group" Kharkiv Resistance Movement "to carry out terrorist activities in Kharkiv. One of the participants of the group received a task from Russian curators to blow up the monument to the UPA soldiers with the help of an improvised explosive device," message.

Operatives of the Service detained the attacker during the installing of explosives to the memorable sign on the night of June 23.

"During the authorized investigative actions at the place of residence of the group's participants, law enforcement officers seized the symbols of the terrorist organizations D/LNR," the message added.

At present, a woman has been announced suspicion of committing crimes under Part 2 of Art. 15, part 1 of Art. 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Investigative and operational actions are continuing to identify other persons involved in the organization and commission of the crime.
