The Greek Civil Aviation Authority approved the application of Wizz Air and Ryanair low-cost companies for the performing of the flights from Greece to Ukraine as avianews.com reported.
Wizz Air Company got the permission for the performing of the flights at Athens-Kyiv and Thessaloniki-Kyiv directions. The flights will be performed by Airbus A320 planes at least twice a week.
Ryanair will perform flights from Athens to Kyiv by Boeing 737-800 twice a week. The first flight is planned for April 2, 2019.
BAe 146 planes of Greek Astra Airlines will start to run the flights to Kyiv on March 31.
Ryanair has already opened the sale of the tickets for these flights.
Earlier, we reported that Serbian national airline Air Serbia would start implementing direct regular flights in seven new directions, including Kyiv.
Ukraine's city of Kharkiv and London are now linked via the direct international connection between the airports, according to the decision of Wizz Air.
Besides, Wizz Air company opened the direct flight from Kyiv to Vienna.
