On the nights of Dec.19, Jan.1, and Jan.7, the operation of public transport in Kyiv will be prolonged, as Diana Popova, Head of Culture Department of the Kyiv City Council Administration, told Ukrainian News.

The city administration isn’t intending to use fireworks during the festivities.

“Since 2014, the city authorities have refused from using fireworks, so long as there’s war in our country,” Popova noted.

However, many of the buildings of Kyiv will be decorated with thematic lights.

As we reported earlier, the official celebration of winter holidays is to last for almost a month: from December 19 to January 14 and will take place in three locations. The main Christmas tree is to be put up in the Sofiivska square at the beginning of December.
